Double WA50m, 60m Cadet, 70m results

Belvoir Archers held their first Double World Record Status World Archery 50m, 60m Cadet and 70m tournament on Saturday.  The weather was a mixed bag of rain, wind, sleet, hale stones and sunshine.  The day went well with over 70 archers braving the weather (many of the archers from Lincolnshire and the east coast had upto 3″ of snow on their cars when they got up).

Despite the weather, Eleanor Piper of Woking Archery Club shot a National Record (subject to ratification) of 633 for a WA60m Junior Lady Cadet Recurve.  Well done Eleanor.

All being well, we shall be running the event next year, hopefully on Sat 15th April 2017 – entries are already coming in – despite an entry form not being out yet – and Eleanor is wanting to come back to try and break her record again.

I would like to thank all the club members who worked very hard this week to get the ground up to a nice condition (during the week, our ladies were out raking grass) and to the field party for their work on the day. Thanks also go out to my wife Sue Haynes and to Steve Burdett for working away in the container all day pulling scores together.

A final thank you goes to our Judges Mario Stankovic, Andrea Hammond, Andy Kay and Mark Edwards for their time and to Tony Drabble of Custom Built Archery for being our Lord Patron and for sponsoring the event.
