Today a handful of Belvoir Archers attended the shoot hosted by Bingham Leisure Centre Archery Club. The round was a Western (4 dozen at 60 yards and 4 at 50, with shorter distances for novices and juniors).
The weather started off cheerful with a promise of some sun and warmth despite a cold and tricky breeze (as so often on Bingham’s field). Sadly the sun never really got the upper hand, but at least the forecast rain held off.
Of the Belvoir contingent Steve Gamble had a terrible morning in the Gents Longbow and was 60 points down on the leader at lunchtime; the leader then had a horrible afternoon allowing Steve to finish second only 4 points behind.
Star Belvoir performance came from Salie Kirk shooting in her very first tournament and finishing second in the Ladies Recurve.
