On Sunday 23rd September, 3 archers went to Burton Brigde Archers to shoot in the Derbyshire Championships.
Dave Seymour and Bryan Haynes both shot the longbow, with Bryan having a very bad day missing the first 2 dozen at 100 yards, coming last Gents Longbow (apart from the 3 that retired). Dave did not have one of his best shoots either, finishing on 327 in 8th place.
On the ladies recurve side of things, Sue Haynes had an excellent day. Shooting a 963, with 143 hits and 45 golds, she took the Ladies Visitor trophy, beating Ashleigh McCloud from Loughborough Students who scored 963, with 143 hits and 41 golds. The trophy was awarded by mistake to Ashleigh, but this is being rectified by the tournament organiser. Not only did Sue win the lady visitor award, but she also came top lady recurve overall, the nearest Derbyshire lady Kath Potter scoring 939.
