Sunday 21 August saw Mark, Dave and Steve travel to Abbeydale Archers’ beautiful but sloping ground near Sheffield to shoot a record status York.  After much discussion about how to shoot straight on a ground that slopes downhill from right to left, and never looks square even when it is, battle was joined.  All three had a clear aspiration for the day; Mark hoped to register his third Bowman score and Dave and Steve were hoping for their third Master Bowman scores.  As the song goes, “two out of three ain’t bad.”  In very pleasant conditions Mark scored exactly what he needed and Steve beat Dave to the final MB score.  Steve and Dave placed first and second, but a Belvoir clean sweep was not to be.  Well run shoot, recommended.
