On Sunday 19 February 5 members of Belvoir Archers travelled to Bsoton to take part in the “Brass Monkey” shoot hosted by Pilgrim Bowmen. Archers arriving for the shoot were greeted by a brilliant blue sky and temperatures that meant the event lived up to its name! A steady wind made it feel all the colder and made good scores hard to achieve. The round was an “American”; seven and a half dozen arrows split evenly across 60, 50 and 40 yards. When the scores were in Belvoir had made a clean sweep of the gents longbow competition with Steve Gamble winning on 459, followed by Dave Seymour on 390 and Bryan Haynes on 233. Martin Jones was not far behind on 228 and Mark Charlish put in a creditable 650 in his first outdoor tournament with the compound bow
